Sameday AI vs ServiceTitan AI, and AI Front Desk Helper
Two AI receptionists built for the trades, aimed at different-sized companies. Here's where the overlap ends.
Sameday AI vs ServiceTitan's AI Virtual Agent
If you already run ServiceTitan, this is usually the real choice. ServiceTitan's AI Virtual Agent is ServiceTitan's own Pro add-on. Per its product page, it books straight to your dispatch board using Adaptive Capacity (job type, location and required skills), recognizes existing and VIP customers from your ServiceTitan data, and hands calls to your live CSRs. Its price isn't published: it requires ServiceTitan core plus Pro and is sold by demo. Sameday AI is an independent company with published prices, $449/month for 500 minutes or $789/month for 1,000, and a scheduling integration built for ServiceTitan-class systems, including ServiceTitan Phones Pro.

How to decide: if your CSRs live in ServiceTitan and you want one vendor, start with the Virtual Agent demo and ask for the price in writing. If you want a published price, or you run several locations, get Sameday's demo too and compare. If you're not on ServiceTitan, neither one is built for you, and that's where AI Front Desk Helper fits. See our full ServiceTitan Virtual Agent comparison.
What Sameday AI is
Sameday AI is one of the more serious home-services-only AI receptionists. It was built by people who ran service businesses, and it shows: the pitch is that the AI books like a sales rep rather than taking messages, and it integrates with professional scheduling platforms, ServiceTitan chief among them. Its published plans are Launch at $449/month for 500 minutes with up to 3 locations, and Scale at $789/month for 1,000 minutes with unlimited locations and voice cloning, plus a custom Enterprise tier with multilingual voices, advanced analytics and API access. Overage rates and contract terms are not published; you get them on the demo.
Where Sameday AI is the better pick
- You run ServiceTitan. Sameday's scheduling integration is built around it. If your dispatch board lives there, the AI booking straight into it is the whole game.
- You're an HVAC, plumbing or electrical shop with real call volume. Sameday's minute tiers and per-location model assume a business with CSRs to replace, not an owner answering on a ladder.
- You want a demo-led, white-glove buying process. Sameday sells through demos and onboarding; if you want a vendor that holds your hand through dispatch workflows, they're set up for it.
- Voice cloning matters to you. Scale includes it; we don't offer it.
Where it runs out for a contractor
Sameday is an answering-and-booking product, and a strong one. What it isn't, as published, is a follow-up and revenue system. The estimate that goes quiet after the visit, the customer who balks at the price, the past-customer list that nobody has called since 2023, the Google review that needs an owner reply today: those are outside its scope. It also prices by the minute, which fits a dispatch shop with steady volume and fits less well a seasonal trade where April is triple January.
And it's built for ServiceTitan-class operations. If your "CRM" is Jobber, a spreadsheet, or your phone's contacts, you'd be paying for integration depth you don't use.

How AI Front Desk Helper is different
Our plans include 500 to 3,000 call minutes included, and we don't stop at the booking. AI Front Desk Helper's Pro plan books into your own Google Calendar after checking you're actually free, then runs a four-touch text sequence on every estimate that doesn't close, and listens for objections on the call so "too expensive" gets a recovery script instead of a goodbye. Elite adds the outbound side: AI calls to your past customers for win-backs and referrals, review replies, and a revenue scoreboard that shows which lead source the booked jobs came from.
The company was built inside a painting contractor, not a call center, and the pricing reflects a business with one to a few crews rather than a dispatch floor. There's also a reseller program for agencies that want to offer it under their own brand.
What AI Front Desk Helper does besides answer the phone
Answering the phone is the entry point, not the product. Here is the rest of what runs once a contractor is on AI Front Desk Helper:
- Booking that respects your calendar. Alex checks your own Google Calendar and offers real open times, so it never books a slot you're already on a job for. Jobs per time slot, arrival windows, appointment length, same-day booking and service days by ZIP code are all settings. Reschedules and cancellations move or remove the event.
- Crews, not just one calendar. Optional auto-assign books each job to a free crew member in turn, using their own calendar and work days, and adds them to the event. Repeating visits (weekly, every two weeks, monthly) can be paused for one customer or for the season.
- After-hours emergencies. You write what counts as an emergency and list up to three on-call phones. Alex rings them in order with a text briefing, and the tech presses 1 to take the call. Emergency texts and website chats alert the same phones, and a tech can reply CALL to be connected.
- Photos by text. Customers can text a photo to your number. Alex saves it to their card, forwards an emergency photo to the on-call phones, sends your Quick Quote link for a job it can price, and offers a visit for anything else.
- Straight answers on price. With the estimator turned on, for junk removal, window cleaning, pressure washing, house cleaning, pest control, garage doors, pool service, flooring, concrete, window installation, stump grinding and lawn care, Alex gives a ballpark from your own price sheet and says the crew confirms on site. Trades that price on site can set a service call fee, and Alex answers financing and insurance questions from what you set. No number you didn't give it.
- Instant online quotes. A branded quote-and-book page for your business (yours looks like quote.yourcompany.com) where customers get a ballpark and pick a time, day or night. Built in for painting, roofing, siding, fencing, gutters and the twelve trades above, and switched on with the estimator (included on Elite, a $20/month add-on on Basic and Pro).
- Estimate follow-up that doesn't quit. Text sequences at 24 hours, 3, 5 and 10 days on every quote that hasn't closed, written like a contractor, stopping the moment the customer replies.
- Objection detection. "Too expensive" or "need to think about it" triggers a recovery script instead of a polite goodbye.
- Outbound campaigns. AI calls and texts to your past-customer list for seasonal reactivation, win-backs and referral asks. You set the campaign; it dials.
- Google Business Profile, handled. Every new review gets an owner reply drafted for you; profile posts can be drafted, approved and scheduled weeks ahead; a profile health audit shows how you stack up against nearby competitors.
- Revenue coaching by lead source. Every phone number is tied to where it came from (Angi, LSA, Facebook, referral, yard sign), so the dashboard shows which marketing produces booked revenue and which to cut.
- Customer DISC profiles. Every caller and texter gets a buying-style read (D, I, S or C) from what they actually said, with a confidence flag, so you walk into the estimate knowing how to sell to them.
- Franchise HQ. One rollup across every location for multi-unit operators.
- Reseller program. Agencies can offer the whole system under their own brand. How it works.
- Optional add-on: AI Rep Coach. Records in-home estimates and coaches the people who sell, with manager review and team analytics. Sold separately, per seat.
Who should pick which
Pick Sameday AI if you're on ServiceTitan, you have CSRs today and want to replace or extend them, and your call volume is steady enough that a 500- or 1,000-minute tier is predictable. It's a more mature product at that scale than we are.
Pick AI Front Desk Helper if you're an owner-operator to mid-size contractor doing estimates, you lose jobs to no follow-up more than to missed calls, you want outbound and reviews handled in the same tool, and you want up to 3,000 minutes included and a published rate after that.
Questions people ask
Should a ServiceTitan shop pick Sameday AI or ServiceTitan's AI Virtual Agent?
If you want one vendor and your CSRs work in ServiceTitan, demo ServiceTitan's Virtual Agent first; it books to the dispatch board with Adaptive Capacity, but its price isn't published and it needs the Pro add-on. If you want published pricing ($449/month for 500 minutes or $789/month for 1,000) or several locations, demo Sameday AI too. If you're not on ServiceTitan, neither is built for you.
Is Sameday AI cheaper than AI Front Desk Helper?
Entry price is close: Sameday starts at $449/month (500 minutes) and we start at $297/month with 500 call minutes included (3,000 on Elite). At the top end Sameday's Scale plan is $789/month versus our Elite at $997/month, but Elite includes outbound campaigns, review replies and revenue coaching that Sameday doesn't offer.
Does AI Front Desk Helper integrate with ServiceTitan?
Not natively. We book into Google Calendar and sync leads to CRMs; if ServiceTitan is your dispatch board, Sameday is the better fit today.
Which one handles follow-up on estimates?
AI Front Desk Helper. Follow-up text sequences at 24 hours, 3, 5 and 10 days are included on Pro and above. Sameday's published feature set is focused on answering and booking.
Does either one make outbound calls?
AI Front Desk Helper Elite runs outbound AI campaigns to your past-customer list (win-backs, seasonal reactivation, referral asks). Sameday's published plans are inbound.
